Dr. Sospeter Ephraim Sewangi is a Tutorial Assistant in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dentistry, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS). He is currently pursuing a Master of Dentistry (M.Dent.) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at MUHAS.
Dr. Sewangi obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from MUHAS in 2019. After graduation, he worked as a general dental surgeon for two years before joining MUHAS as an academic staff member. In his current role, he participates in undergraduate teaching, clinical training, patient care, and research.
His academic and research interests focus on head and neck oncology, benign maxillofacial tumours, reconstructive surgery, oral radiology, and patient-reported outcomes in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is particularly interested in research aimed at improving surgical outcomes through advanced imaging, evidence-based practice, and quality of life assessment.
