Office of Legal Services
The Unit is responsible for all Legal affairs of the University and to advise the Vice Chancellor on the soundness of all agreements between the University and any external or internal agents
Our Roles
- Provide legal opinion to the MUHAS management on all matters strategic and those pertaining to day to day operations of the University in collaboration with the Office of Attorney General;
- Assist the University in drafting all legal documents related to third party investment on the MUHAS land as well as other strategic issues;
- Participate in the legal negotiations with various parties wishing to invest in MUHAS land;
- Authenticate the common seal;
- Study and advise the University on the soundness on all agreements and contracts to be signed between the University and any external or internal agent;
- Represent the University on legal matters in courts in collaboration with the Office of Attorney General;
- Be custodian of all licenses, insurance policies, MUHAS seal agreements, contract and others;
- Serve as Secretary to the Senate, the Council and their Boards or Committees, Management Committee, Staff Disciplinary Committee, Staff Disciplinary Appeals Committee, Students Disciplinary Panel, Students Disciplinary Appeals Committee; and
- Vet all legal documents emanating from outside the University in which the University is a party.
