Dr. Kasusu Nyamuryekung'e operates at the intersection of Implementation Research, Health Economics, and Knowledge Translation. He holds a DDS (MUHAS), a PGD in Global Health (Tampere), an MPhil (Bergen), and a PhD in Public Oral Health and Health Economics (Turku), followed by a Fogarty GloCal Postdoctoral Fellowship (NIH/University of California).

Key highlights of his work include:

Policy Impact: A certified MoH/CDC Trainer of Trainers in policy brief development and a member of the Vanderbilt-led Data to Policy (D2P) global consortium, he regularly helps shape national Ministry of Health guidelines.
Field Experience: Strong background in epidemiology, human centered design and community-based implementation research

He is dedicated towards driving a paradigm shift from curative approaches toward preventive and rehabilitative care models that account for implementation context.

Health Economics: Evaluating the economic burden of chronic and oral diseases, conducting robust cost-effectiveness analyses, and investigating catastrophic health expenditures.

Implementation Science: Navigating service delivery challenges, optimizing integrated Community Health Worker (iCCHW) program transitions, and designing sustainable evidence-to-policy frameworks.

Knowledge Translation: Driving multi-institutional collaborations—such as contributing in the Knowledge Translation Hub (KTH) for Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health alongside partners like the APHRC—to turn research data into actionable public health strategies
