Dr. Eulambius Mathias Mlugu is a Clinical Pharmacologist, academic, and health systems researcher at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), Tanzania. He holds a PhD in Clinical Pharmacology from Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, with a background in industrial pharmacy. He has extensive expertise in clinical pharmacology, medicines regulation, pharmaceutical quality, pharmacovigilance, clinical research, and antimalarial drug resistance. His recent work focuses on strengthening pharmaceutical manufacturing and regulatory systems in Tanzania and advancing regional responses to antimalarial drug resistance. He has contributed to research and capacity-building initiatives in medicine quality, clinical trial and ethical review, pharmaceutical supply chains, and evidence-informed health policy. Following his TDR/WHO Clinical Research Leadership Fellowship, he contributed to the development of the East African Regional Detailed Action Plan for Responding to Antimalarial Drug Resistance in East Africa. Dr. Mlugu is also actively engaged in postgraduate training, research capacity strengthening, and translating research evidence into health policy and practice.
