The Director of ICT is responsible for planning, directing and leading the development, operations and maintenance of the ICT resources and infrastructure at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS). At MUHAS ICT play vital role as a strong agent for change among faculty and students teaching and learning activities. It enables conducting online examinations, pay online fees, accessing online books and journals. It has become the source of knowledge.
Our Roles
- Contribute to the development of the University strategic and business plans, particularly in relation to information technology and communications systems, in support of the company’s mission and core objectives.
- Formulate, develop and implement guidelines and Standards regarding information and communications systems and equipment to support university operations.
- Plan, Administer and Supervise all information systems and computer networking to ensure the cyber security and confidentiality of all University data and to provide protection against internal and external threats.
- Oversee the management of all data and information flows within the University to ensure that comprehensive and accurate management information is available as required.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and effective help desk service to provide technical support to systems users.
- Ensure fast, reliable, quality and secure access to LAN and internet services
- Design, develop and maintain interconnectivity within and outside for effective internet services and data sharing
- Design and carryout income generation activities to solicit funds for upgrading and maintenance of MUHAS Infrastructure
- Provide ICT awareness training and workshop to MUHAS
