MUHAS participated in the GGNET Summit held in Bogotá, Colombia, from 20–22 May 2026, represented by Dr. Siana Nkya and Dr. Mohamed Zahir. The summit brought together global experts to advance genomics education and workforce development.

During the meeting, Tanzania was recognized for its efforts in engaging policymakers on genomics and was selected as Africa Co-Lead for genomics education and training under the GGNET network.
