On January 7, 2025, MUHAS held a site management meeting to review the progress of the ongoing construction of its Kigoma Campus. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Appolinary Kamuhabwa who emphasized the importance of adhering to the original project timeline and ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.

The Vice Chancellor urged the contractor to recover delays caused by the holiday season and reiterated the necessity of adhering to the catch-up program to ensure the project remains on schedule. The contractor assured the stakeholders of their commitment to making up for lost time and delivering the project within the agreed timeframe.

The Vice Chancellor also reminded the contractor and consultant that unnecessary project variations would not be entertained. He emphasized that the project operates within a fixed budget, which is now being impacted by fluctuations in the exchange rate between the US dollar and the Tanzanian shilling.

In this meeting the HEET project management team was represented by the coordinator, deputy coordinator, project manager, head of estate unit, procurement, environmental and social impact focal persons.
