On 29 May 2026, MUHAS Vice Chancellor, Prof. Appolinary Kamuhabwa, and Southern Medical University Vice President, Prof. Xu Kewei, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic and research collaboration.

The agreement covers public health training, implementation science, traditional medicine, infection prevention and control, health security, health policy, and student and staff exchange programmes.
