MUHAS in collaboration with Muhimbili Orthopedic Institute (MOI), Institute for Global Orthopedics and Trauma (IGOT), Surgical Implant Generation Network (SIGN), Orthopedic Trauma Institute (OTI) University of California San Francisco (UCSF), and AO alliance (AOA), hosted a Regional Trauma Training Course (May 19–22, 2026) to enhance orthopaedic and trauma care skills in Tanzania and Africa.
Opening the event, Prof. Emmanuel Balandya highlighted the programme’s role in enhancing surgical expertise, innovation, and patient outcomes. The training supports Tanzania’s ambition to become a regional medical hub, with over 150 participants from Tanzania and other African countries in attendance.
