On 20 May 2026, MUHAS and the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen Universal Health Insurance through research, data analysis, training, and capacity building.

MUHAS Vice Chancellor Prof. Appolinary Kamuhabwa noted that the partnership supports national health priorities and promotes evidence-based improvements in health service delivery. NHIF Director General Dr. Isaka emphasized that research will guide policy development and strengthen health workforce training.
