The  MUHAS  Vice  Chancellor, Prof. Appolinary Kamuhabwa, officially opened a special health camp that provided free medical services to Tanzanian citizens as part of the activities leading up to the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the College of Medicine under the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project.

At the camp, citizens received preliminary health screenings for eye diseases, ear, nose, and throat conditions, oral health, breast cancer, cervical cancer, hepatitis, and prostate disease through blood tests.

Additionally, citizens had the opportunity to receive education on the dangers of drug misuse and drug resistance, infectious diseases, the manufacturing and repair of medical equipment, the processing of health data using artificial intelligence, and nutrition education. They also had the chance to view various products produced by MUHAS professionals in the fields of pharmacy and traditional medicine.

This health camp was held over two days, from February 25 to 27, 2025, at the Centre of Excellence in Cardiovascular Sciences, Mloganzila Campus and was also part of the activities to honor the first MUHAS Chancellor and the second President of the United Republic of Tanzania the late Ali Hassan Mwinyi.
