Advertisement for Application to Young Research Peer Positions

MUHAS has been awarded a grant (R25 TW011227) by Fogarty International Center (FIC) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) –USA, in collaboration with KCMUCo and CUHAS, to support transformation of health professions education in Tanzania. The three institutions will collaborate with United States Partners University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and Duke University. The five-year grant (2018-2023) will implement a project titled “To Reach the People: Transforming Health Professions Education in Tanzania (THET)”, being part of the Health Professional Education Partnership Initiative (HEPI) by FIC that supports efforts to strengthen healthcare and research workforce in sub-Saharan Africa, especially in HIV/AIDS. In Tanzania, THET aims to use innovative educational strategies to transform health education geared to produce health professionals who are competent and ready to practice inter-professionally whenever they are in the country. One of the aims of THET is to mentor and support junior faculty to become successful in performing inter-professional research and in obtaining funding through creation of a mentored Community of Young Research Peers (CYRP). The first cohort of CYRP was formed in 2018 and is currently in its third year.
