Directorate of Planning and Development - Mloganzila Campus

Inadequate teaching and learning infrastructure are the major challenges facing the higher education sub-sector. MUHAS is not an exception to this challenge. Currently MUHAS has about 2442 student s compared to 456 in the late 1990s. This trend has occurred without a corresponding increase in the teaching and learning infrastructure within the institution.

The existing university infrastructures are inadequate and some facilities are old and won out. Another main challenge facing MUHAS is lack of teaching hospital. Currently Muhimbili National Hospital does not provide adequate teaching space for increased clinical students at MUHAS:
However, the vision of MUHAS is to become a center of excellence for training health professionals, quality research and public service, located in a spacious area, with a state of the art University hospital, conducive learning environment and sustainable resource generation.
As a step towards achieving this vision, MUHAS have initiated developmental activities at Mloganzila land with a purpose of developing it into a New University Campus. The photo above represent design of the proposed MUHAS Medical Center  to be build at Mloganzila.
